Treasure Mountain Hut is in Picayune Gulch, approximately 5.5 miles from Eureka and 10 miles from Silverton. From downtown Silverton, take Greene Street through town and bear right onto County Road 110 to Eureka. Continue On County Road 2 from Eureka toward Animas Forks. Turn left onto County Road 9 up Picayune Gulch (there is a small sign for Picayune Gulch at the junction of County Roads 2 & 9, visable in summer). The hut is accessible in summer by 4-wheel drive vehicle or by hiking in. In winter, the hut is accessible by snowmobile, ski or snowshoe. |
